1. Arrowroot shall be:-
(i). fresh, whole, clean, firm, reasonably mature having colour, taste and texture characteristic of the variety;
(ii). reasonably uniform in size and shape
(iii). free from roots, mould or deterioration so as to make it unfit for processing;
(iv). free of any visible extraneous matter or foreign matter;
(v). free of any foreign smell and/or taste, greening, pests and damage caused by pests.

5. Sampling:
(i) 5 % or minimum one container shall be randomly selected for sampling.
(ii) 250 gm shall be drawn from each selected container and shall be mixed homogenously, called as primary sample
(iii) 250 gm shall be drawn from primary sample called as Laboratory sample
